Data You Give Us Directly
Information entered in a search form, such as a name, telephone number, or address, goes to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Yakima County People Search does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. When you contact us, we receive the details you choose to send and use them to answer your message.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard server logs may record an IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps maintain the site and indicates which resources visitors use. Cookies or similar tools may also support basic analytics and advertising measurement where applicable.
What We Do With This Data
The limited data described above is used to run the service, diagnose faults, measure traffic, and improve content. We neither sell a visitor list nor build individual user profiles.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links may lead to Yakima County or Washington government portals, library collections, records offices, and third-party search services. Information submitted after following a link is subject to that destination's policy, not this one. The same distinction applies to sponsored results supplied by an outside company.
Parties That Process Data
Hosting and support providers process server logs for us. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatically collected data already described. Data may also be disclosed in response to valid legal process, but visitor data is not otherwise shared.
How We Protect Your Data
An encrypted connection protects data in transit. Server logs are retained only as long as the stated purposes require. Because visitors do not create accounts, this service holds no visitor password or account profile.
Users Under 18
This service is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Contact us if you believe a minor submitted such information so it can be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Privacy rights depend on the law and the kind of data involved. Washington's My Health My Data Act, chapter 19.373 RCW, applies to covered consumer health data, while the Data Broker Registration Act, chapter 19.375 RCW, imposes registration and disclosure duties on covered data brokers. These sectoral laws do not create one universal deletion right for every record or every website. Because we retain little, a request usually involves checking contact messages and available server logs. Use the Contact page to submit one. Records held by Yakima County, the City of Yakima, or Washington agencies remain under the control of their custodians, so any correction or removal request concerning an official record must go to the responsible office.
